Active substance: Exemestane
Active life: ~24–48 hours
Detection time: Approximately 2 to 3 weeks, though this can vary depending on dosage, length of use, and individual metabolism.
Exemestane is a powerful suicidal aromatase inhibitor (AI), commonly used among anabolic steroid users to control estrogen levels and prevent estrogen-related side effects. Originally developed for treating estrogen-receptor-positive breast cancer, Exemestane has become popular in the bodybuilding community for its ability to irreversibly bind to the aromatase enzyme, permanently disabling it until new enzymes are synthesized.
Unlike other AIs such as Anastrozole or Letrozole, Exemestane reduces estrogen levels more gradually, and may result in fewer estrogen rebound issues post-therapy. It also has a mild androgenic effect, which can be beneficial for maintaining libido and mood during and after a cycle.
Its primary purpose is to prevent the aromatization of androgens into estrogen, which helps reduce the risk of gynecomastia, water retention, bloating, and high blood pressure associated with elevated estrogen.
How to use:
Exemestane is typically used on-cycle to manage estrogen-related side effects, especially with aromatizing steroids like testosterone, Dianabol, or boldenone. It can also be used during PCT to stabilize estrogen while recovering natural testosterone production.
-
Common dosage: 12.5 mg to 25 mg every other day or daily, depending on the severity of estrogenic symptoms and individual response.
-
Due to its irreversible binding, lower frequency may still be effective compared to other AIs.
The goal is to keep estrogen within optimal physiological range — not to eliminate it entirely, as estrogen is important for joint health, mood, and libido.
Exemestane can be taken with or without food, and is generally well tolerated when dosed properly.
